"We congratulate Chief Thomas Medwood for his 45 year career in law enforcement and 27 years as chief of police," the board stated as part of the proclamation.
Medwood addressed the assembled officers and residents, reflecting on recruitment and the department’s people-driven legacy. "There is no cookie-cutter officer because every one of them brings their own gifts to the game," he said, adding thanks to the civilian police committee and township leadership for their partnership.
Following the proclamation, Cory B. Neyer took the oath of office as chief of police for Lower Salford Township. After the oath, Chief Neyer thanked the board and the department, called the police force "top-notch," and said he looked forward to leading the team. He also recognized mentors and family support during his remarks.
The board invited photos and public acknowledgments after the ceremony. The meeting proceeded to routine business after the swearing-in.
