Lyman emphasized changing on‑ and off‑ramp patterns during active demolition and reconstruction and urged drivers to watch for closures.
Battalion Chief Peter Moffet of Cal Fire/Placer County reported a four‑month forecast (May–August) showing warmer and drier trends and increasing fuel cure into July and August; he said the region could expect above‑normal fire activity later in summer. Moffet noted current burn restrictions (permits only), recent mutual‑aid training with Cal Fire and allied agencies, and that aircraft resources increase in June. He also provided April call statistics for Placer County Fire (vegetation, structure, vehicle fires, rescues and medical aids).
