Applicant Stephen Daniels, representing the Blazer 88 Foundation, asked that the alley between several downtown businesses be closed for foot traffic because the event will use the big parking lot. “The alley between the Mexican restaurant, the church, the American Legion, and the BFW… be closed down as well due to foot traffic because the big parking lot would be shut down,” he said. Staff said similar closures have worked in prior events and the town will escort the ride.
Council moved and approved the special‑event request; staff asked the applicant to notify businesses as a courtesy so that patrons and staff are prepared for closures. The permit covers the entire day and includes the town’s condition that staff will provide necessary escorts and public‑safety coordination.
