Audit presenters highlighted that the city—s unassigned general fund balance was approximately 54% of the next year—s budget (city policy target: 35—50%), and that revenues notably exceeded budget projections driven by permit activity and investment earnings. "We were able to obtain all of our audit evidence and we did not run into any significant challenges," an Abdo presenter said.
The presentation also reviewed special revenue, capital and debt service funds, noting that some TIF districts and capital reserves reflect receivables and non-cash investments. Debt-service schedules show principal maturities with drops around 2033 and 2037, the auditors said, and the single-audit procedures required this year produced no compliance findings.
Council thanked staff for preparation and the auditor for the review; the audit was received as informational and no council action was required.
What happens next: No action was requested; staff will incorporate auditor recommendations as part of regular financial oversight.
