Resident Gary Peterson used his public comment time to follow up on prior remarks about landscaping in highway roundabouts and rock medians at the intersection of Highway 9 and 204. He said one weed patch had been cleared promptly but urged the city to contact the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and explore transferring maintenance responsibility for those highway landscape areas to the city, arguing local control would improve upkeep.
Council responses were limited during public comment; staff and council acknowledged the comments and noted the distinction between city and state maintenance responsibility.
