Assistant Superintendent Steuart Blunt, joined by the school district—s director of technology Marina Shine, Superintendent Dr. Cheeseman and the district finance officer, asked the county to approve a multi-year lease agreement with Apple to support school technology needs.
Blunt told the commissioners that the Craven County Board of Education approved a contingent resolution on May 19 and the district requested the county—s approval because the lease originates in the capital budget and requires county action. A commissioner confirmed the board—s approval of the school board resolution was unanimous.
A motion to approve the county—s resolution to enter the Apple lease extension was made, seconded and approved on a unanimous roll-call vote. The clerk recorded each commissioner voting yes.
