Board refers policy JS to committee and votes to retain district policies over wholesale LSBA model adoption

During discussion of broader policy strategy, administration (Miss Amanda) explained the choice between adopting LSBA model policies and retaining the district’s TPSS‑approved policies. Several board members urged keeping the locally adopted TPSS policies, noting years of district work and the policies’ role in meeting obligations from a desegregation case. “We have put a tremendous amount of work over many years into adopting what I believe are in fact model policies for our school system,” one board member said, urging caution about wholesale change.
The board indicated no major opposition to continuing with current TPSS policies and referred JS to the policy committee for formal review.
