The Tangipahoa Parish School Board selected the Tangi Times as the district’s official journal after an initial vote produced insufficient votes and the board voted to reconsider.
Administration noted bids from the Daily Star ($4/100 words, publishes Thursdays) and the Tangi Times ($5/100 words, publishes Monday/Wednesday/Friday) and recommended the Tangi Times for its multi‑day publication schedule. Bobby Perez, speaking for the Daily Star, thanked the board and urged continued service from his paper.
An initial roll call did not produce a majority because some members abstained. The board then moved to reconsider; on the second vote the Tangi Times was approved. Miss Amanda conducted the roll call votes recorded in the meeting minutes.
Next steps: staff will complete formal appointment paperwork and public notices as required by statute.
