The Denver County Civil Service Commission approved its 2025 annual report at the Feb. 26 meeting and heard a presentation on first-year stakeholder-survey results.
Staff said the annual report summarizes the board's 2025 results and outcomes and is required under CSE rule 2 §5(f); a motion to approve the report passed by voice vote and staff will circulate the approved report to stakeholders. A commissioner commented favorably on the report’s design and charts.
Separately, staff member Ally presented the stakeholder-survey results: the survey ran Jan. 8–31, 2026, was sent to 62 internal stakeholders (including DPD, DFD, Department of Safety, City Council, Budget Management Office, the Mayor’s Office and the City Attorney's Office) and received 13 responses (21% response rate). Staff reported an overall favorability metric (reported between about 85% and 87% depending on calculation) and breakout scores for communication and perceived alignment with decision-making.
Commissioners questioned the calculation method; staff explained they defined favorability as responses of 7–10 on a 1–10 scale and computed percentages from that subset. Commissioners urged additional outreach—including to the City Attorney's Office and City Council—and encouraged staff to expand community stakeholder engagement beyond internal partners in future surveys.
Staff also announced an anticipated board vacancy to be filled by city council appointment; the term runs May 1, 2026–April 30, 2028, and the application deadline was set for March 1, 2026. Staff directed interested parties to the commission and city-council websites for application details.
