Golf-course staff and members press council for clarity as pro-shop contract non-renewal looms

A council member responded in the meeting that the superintendent's city employment is separate from the pro-shop contract and that, to the council's knowledge, the superintendent "still has your job" and is not being terminated; the council said the mayor will meet with Mr. Bowman soon to clarify the operational line of communication and next steps. The council reiterated that a decision not to renew a private pro-shop contract does not equate to termination of city employment for the superintendent.
City staff said legal and contractual questions around the pro-shop contract will be handled separately; the discussion did not include a formal vote during the meeting. Mayor or city management will follow up with Mr. Bowman to provide the requested operational clarity and to communicate to club members and tournament organizers.
