The Bib County Commission approved its consent agenda, voting unanimously to advance a slate of appointments, grant acceptances, budget transfers and procurement contracts first considered at a May 5 pre-commission meeting and finalized at the June 2 regular meeting.
The agenda included two appointments of Kaylee Puit to the Bib County Transit Authority and the Bib County Pedestrian Safety Review Board, and budget transfers totaling $313,910 intended for purchases across the IT, aviation, solid-waste and grants departments. Commissioners also authorized the use of SPLOST funds for recreation, courthouse and road projects and reallocated money where state or grant funds were available.
The board accepted multiple Georgia Department of Transportation airport grants: up to $2,845,277.30 for runway 5/23 paving and lighting (with a local match up to $948,000) and about $2.85 million for the taxiway E phase one project (with a local match of roughly $950,000 to be paid from previously appropriated CIP funds).
Procurements included a $104,882.38 agreement with Cardex Rimstar LLC for a vertical carousel for the public-safety office, $146,883.87 for radio replacement with Williams Communication, Inc., and a $158,140 annual Tyler Technologies contract for New World enterprise resource planning software. The commission also approved a three-year, $524,000-per-year agreement for gunshot-detection and forensic analysis services with ShotSpotter, funded from the public-safety account.
All items were introduced in the May 5 pre-commission session, moved and seconded during that meeting, and formally approved as part of the June 2 consent agenda without recorded roll-call tallies in the transcript. The consent agenda language and related documents were attached to meeting packets and discussed briefly during pre-commission presentations.
