The Village of Lake Bluff Board of Trustees approved a $43,740 contract to Schroeder & Schroeder (Skokie, Ill.) for the village’s 2026 miscellaneous concrete replacement program.
Staff reported two competitive bids were opened May 7, and Schroeder & Schroeder submitted the lowest responsive bid at $43,740. The annual program funds replacement of curb sections, sidewalks and several worn ADA crossings; staff explained bids are based on estimated quantities and locations will be finalized by staff inspections and resident complaints.
The FY2027 budget allocates $40,000 for the program; village staff said the general-fund contingency will cover the $3,740 difference. Trustees asked how sidewalk priorities are determined; staff described the program’s practice of starting near schools and working outward, supplemented by staff inspections and resident requests.
The board approved the contract on a roll-call vote with all trustees present voting in favor.
