Durham manager flags 42% dispatch price jump; town to plan for next fiscal year

On other fiscal topics, Sherry reported the town will remain with Trio for financial systems rather than moving to Town Cloud; staff may upgrade to Trio Web at an estimated cost of about $4,300, which the manager said is already accounted for in the budget. She also reported the town paid $8,000 toward a $18,400 bill for a new baseball batting cage and that donations helped offset the remainder.
The board asked staff to monitor the dispatch contract negotiations and to look for alternatives that would reduce next year's cost pressure. The manager said she will work with the police chief in the coming months and present options to the board.
