Chaska resident objects to proposed Schoolmaster Road data center, staff point to pending final review

Speaking during public comment, the resident said she did not want the data center built and listed concerns including "light and noise pollution, water consumption, energy [use]" and what she had read about the project's height relative to Chaska's building ordinance. "I don't want it to be built," the resident said.
A staff member told the resident the project "went through a concept plan and preliminary" review and that the next step would be a final application; the staff member said that the application had been at that stage "for two-ish years." Staff encouraged the resident to contact City Administrator Matt Pauleraski for follow-up and noted a project fact sheet on the city's project page.
No formal action or vote was taken on the project at the meeting. Residents were offered contact information for staff and an invitation to review the project's public materials for more details.
