Staff said the initial year’s local investment for setup often comes from surplus or emergency funds and the expense is then built into the budget as a recurring item covered by the state allotment.
The board moved, seconded and approved the contract by voice vote. Administrators said they had negotiated multiple clarifications in the contract and would manage implementation and vendor coordination with the transportation office.
Next steps: execute the Edgilog contract with hardware‑as‑a‑service terms, schedule implementation beginning July 1, coordinate with the transportation manager on rollout, and monitor budget effects as the recurring lease is built into next year’s budget.
