The Warrensburg Town Board on June 12 voted to sign a state master agreement and commit $560,000 toward continuing the River Street sidewalk project, a step officials said is required to access state and federal funding for the next construction phase.
Chair told the board the state and federal funds are available but paperwork and legal documentation are required to move forward; the local commitment under the master agreement totals $560,000. He said the project will include ADA‑compliant curb ramps and that the town expects to put the work out to bid and have at least preliminary pricing before the next meeting.
Board members voted by voice to approve the resolution to sign the agreement. The vote followed a presentation on the project scope and a note that continued coordination with New York State Department of Transportation is necessary for work on State Route 418 and the stretch adjacent to the town’s existing sidewalks.
The board did not detail a construction schedule beyond a hope to complete follow-up items by late summer; officials said additional legal paperwork remains to be finalized before contractors can begin work.
