Ramsey County approves 2026 city and county assessments after public complaints about large increases

Ramsey County commissioners voted to adopt the city and county assessment rolls for 2026 after hearing presentations from local assessors and sustained public concern about sharp increases in property valuations.
Beth, Ramsey County staff, opened the county equalization session and introduced Rob Johnson, city assessor for Devil's Lake, and Ted Gazlinga, a certified appraiser with Vanguard Appraisals. Rob presented the city's proposed valuations and described outreach: he said his office placed 47 people on an appeal list for roughly 110 properties and that most had been resolved at the local level. Rob reported the city's commercial valuation and residential valuation figures to the board.
