Greece board approves routine permits, purchases and policy updates; sets hearings

The Greece Town Board unanimously approved a slate of 22 routine agenda items on Oct. 16, 2025, by voice vote. The board moved and carried authorizations for program agreements, equipment purchases, personnel appointments and several fee and policy changes.

Key approvals recorded by the clerk and moved from the floor included agreements for library programs and a municipal permitting software contract with ICC Community Development Solutions; authorizations for Department of Public Works vehicle and equipment purchases (including a 10‑ton tracked excavator and multiple pickups); acceptance of the 2025 forestry plan linked to Tree City USA status; and authorization for a fireworks permit for Bosov’s department store grand opening on Nov. 1, 2025.

The board set a Nov. 20, 2025 public hearing on rezoning 33 acres at 3223 Westridge Road from R1E single‑family to BP professional office, and separately set a hearing to receive comments on the preliminary 2026 operating budget. Other votes included a waiver of the 30‑day notice for a New York State Liquor Authority license application for Hoki Ramen House, an amended purchasing policy (auditor‑recommended codification), and fee schedule amendments to charge other agencies $200/day ($100/half day) for use of the Greece Police Department firing range and to set a $50 adoption fee for qualifying abandoned animals.

Several personnel and administrative motions moved from the floor were also approved, including the appointment of a full‑time clerk effective Oct. 18 and the abolition/appointment of another clerk classification, various 2025 budget transfers, and authorization to purchase eight Ford Interceptor police vehicles using the state mini bid process.

All items were moved, seconded and carried by voice vote; no roll‑call tallies were recorded in the transcript.
