Board accepts sanitary sewer compliance report with A grade and approves NR208 resolution

The Board of Public Works and Utilities placed the City of Onalaska sanitary sewer collection-system compliance maintenance annual report on file and approved the associated NR208 compliance maintenance resolution during its June 2 meeting.
Staff said the annual SEMA report documented the city’s collection-system practices, miles of sewer cleaned and other routine measures, and that the city received an A grade and had no sanitary sewer overflows in the most recent reporting period. Alder Steven not noted staff’s modesty, saying the transcript understates that the city received a perfect score.
A board member asked whether the collection report addresses the city’s wastewater-treatment agreement with La Crosse; staff said the collection report covers only the collection system and that treatment-plant reporting is separate. The board moved to place the report on file and approved the NR208 resolution unanimously.
