Organizer reports growth, 57th Mill Street Run set for Sept. 12

Patrick Balderne, speaking as an organizer for the Mill Street Run, updated the council and the public on the event’s growth and logistics.
Balderne said last year’s event attracted 26 high schools, 250 open-race runners and 56 participants in the one-mile fun run, for a total of 755 athletes across five races. He said younger children participate in the fun run with parents and emphasized that the borough’s kids participate free of charge; funds for the race come from sponsors and open-race fees.
Balderne confirmed the 57th Mill Street Run is scheduled for Sept. 12 and that the children’s fun run will begin at 7:45 a.m. He encouraged continued local sponsorship to offset costs and thanked numerous local businesses and civic volunteers, and he reported the Mill Street Run organizing team made a $1,000 donation to Bucks County Rescue Squad.
Council members asked clarifying questions about race start times and age categories; organizers said there are multiple race divisions including JV, high school and open categories.
