The Village Board of North Fond du Lac took first reading of Ordinance 2025-08, an amendment to Village Ordinance 14.05(11)(d)3 governing the keeping of chickens.
Administrator Nick Leonard explained the amendment would explicitly allow a chicken coop in addition to structures already listed in the ordinance such as a shed, pergola or gazebo. Leonard said the Plan Commission reviewed the proposed language and recommended approval. The reading was recorded as first reading; no final adoption vote was taken at this meeting.
The ordinance will return to the board for subsequent consideration and any additional public input before a final vote.
