Town staff warns of broader floodplain-permit requirements under forthcoming state building-code updates

Liz also addressed questions about state electrification provisions in the updated codes, saying there had been no communication from the Department of Building Standards and Codes yet and that local staff are proceeding under current guidance. She noted the changes will be more impactful in the village than across the broader town but that 500-year floodplains do exist in town and could affect some property projects.
The board did not take formal action on the report; the item was presented as information to alert both the board and residents to possible new permitting steps tied to state code updates.
