Aurora board appoints interim board member, updates personnel policy and approves small purchases

At its Nov. 10 meeting the Town of Aurora board made several personnel and procurement decisions.
The board voted to appoint Jessica Armburst to fill an unexpired town‑board term left by Jim Granville; the appointment will begin Nov. 24 and pay for that appointment was discussed through Dec. 31, 2025. The board discussed completing onboarding paperwork and the oath; the Supervisor noted the oath may be signed within 30 days and paperwork could be completed that evening.
The board also approved adding Santino Calabro to the security‑office list and authorized the supervisor to sign a position duty statement to add to the town job inventory. In personnel policy business, the board approved adding section 3.20 (employment verification policy) to the town personnel policy.
On procurement items, members approved the purchase of one user license of Bluebeam software for the building department at an annual cost cited in the meeting as $260. Motions to approve these items were moved and seconded and carried by the board.
