Council highlights July 4 parade, World Cup events and cleanup efforts as community readies for summer

Council member Harrison used her council report on June 1 to outline multiple upcoming community events tied to the World Cup and Independence Day.
Harrison said the July 4 parade will begin at 10 a.m., use staging areas near the justice center and the soccer-field parking lots, and will include three entertainment locations with DJs and an MC. “We have over 50 entries in the parade and we’re still accepting them,” she said, and she urged residents, HOAs and community organizations to attend. Harrison also described a Town Center Plaza tailgate on July 11 and a ParkPlace VIP watch event on June 16; she and other councilors acknowledged a broad sponsor list that includes local firms and noted volunteer-led trash pickups to tidy major corridors before events.
Councilors and staff encouraged residents to support the events, and the mayor and council thanked the parks and chamber partners for their work on logistics, sponsorship and public messaging.
