The Leawood City Council adopted an ordinance on June 1 amending sections of the city code that regulate record and tow service charges in order to update fees and align them with comparable municipalities.
Captain Yoder introduced the ordinance and briefed the council on the change, saying the update "brings our fees... in line with other municipalities" and is intended to be fair both to record/tow service providers and to vehicle owners. Council considered the item as New Business A and, because it amends the municipal code, conducted a roll-call vote. The ordinance passed with six votes in favor and two members absent.
No amendments to the ordinance were recorded at the meeting. Councilors followed the roll-call procedure required for code amendments; staff will publish the revised fee schedule and ordinance language as part of the city code update.
