The Chambers County Probate Court admitted four wills to probate and appointed independent executors to administer the estates during a brief docket call before the judge. The court waived appraisals in each case and authorized letters of administration.
The first matter concerned the estate of Fyen Weezner Hillier. Eddie David Hillier, who told the court he is 63 and the decedent’s son, testified that the decedent died Nov. 30, 2025, and had lived in Chambers County. Counsel said the will names Eddie Heath Hillier as the independent executor but that he has waived the role in favor of his son because he is in a nursing home and unable to perform the duties. Waivers from both siblings were on file; counsel asked that the will be admitted to probate and that Eddie David Hillier be appointed independent executor to serve without bond, and the court granted the request.
Counsel presented the will of Linda Joyce Benois next, saying Benois died April 19, 2026, had a fixed residence in Winnie in Chambers County but died in Travis County, and had executed a will dated Nov. 8, 2022. The will names Lorie Anne Hines as independent executor; counsel told the court the estate is non-taxable and asked that appraisals be waived. The court admitted the will and granted the requested relief.
In the matter of Gloria Anne Ainsworth, counsel said Ainsworth died April 2, 2026, at age 89 and had a fixed residence in Chambers County. Her will, dated Feb. 25, 2025, was presented and names Regina Mitchum and Jana Flowers as independent co-executors without bond. Counsel represented that the estate is non-taxable and asked that appraisals be waived; the court admitted the will and granted the request.
Finally, the court heard the estate of Lester Alvin Handcomer Sr. His son, Lester Alvin Handcomer Jr., confirmed his father’s will dated April 25, 2022, and that he is named independent executor. Counsel asked that the will be admitted to probate and that Handcomer Jr. be appointed without bond; the court granted the request and the docket was closed.
The docket record shows each estate described as non-taxable and counsel twice asked that appraisals be waived; the court admitted the wills and authorized issuance of letters of administration. The proceedings were routine and concluded with the court adjourning the session.
