The Saco City Council on Monday approved several action items by unanimous roll call.
Councilors voted 6‑0 to approve the minutes from the May 18 meeting (motion by Councilor Edwards, second by Councilor Parks). The council then approved an order authorizing the lease purchase of five municipal vehicles in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $1,900,000 (motion by Councilor Johnston), a purchase described by staff as part of the city's FY2027 capital improvement plan. Council instructed Finance to finalize lease paperwork with bond counsel Drummond Woodsome.
The council also opened and closed a public hearing on a special entertainment permit for Super Chief LLC, doing business as Townhouse Pub. No members of the public spoke at the hearing; the council voted to grant the special entertainment permit concurrent with the establishment’s pending state liquor license. Council noted the 1:00 a.m. closing hour referenced in the application is permitted under state law.
Separately, the council entered executive session under MRSA Title 1, Chapter 13, Subchapter 1, §405(6)(E) to consult with the municipality's attorney regarding legal matters; the council later exited the executive session at 9:01 p.m. with no report announced.
