Southfield’s Zoning Board of Appeals granted a waiver June 2 allowing a Ducati franchise at 21399 Telegraph Road to install three additional wall signs (for a total of four) along a major thoroughfare frontage.
Owner James Blazius and partner Kevin Callaway said franchise standards require specific signage but that their total sign area remains within the local 100‑square‑foot limit. "We meet the square footage requirement and spoke with neighbors, who offered positive feedback," Blazius said.
Board members compared the request to nearby legal nonconforming examples such as Maine’s Lawn Supply and determined the proposed signs were consistent with the building’s design and the character of the area. The board granted the waiver by voice vote and reminded the applicant to work with the city on permits.
