At the May 20, 2026 meeting of the Trustees of Trust Funds, members approved a request to disburse $12,000 to an artist as the initial payment under a $36,000 contract for a mural funded from a middle-school public-arts trust.
The Chair said the contract had been fully signed and that the city manager submitted a requisition and a certified copy of the council vote for the trustees’ files. "What's before us today is approval of that and then direct Judy to issue a check for 12,000 to the city manager to send to the artist," the Chair said. A trustee moved the motion, a second was heard, and the trustees voted in favor by voice vote.
Trustees discussed the board’s policy that materials for agenda items should be received by the Friday before the meeting and noted occasional exceptions when the council meets shortly before trustees convene. The Chair emphasized continued adherence to the policy but accepted that exceptions occur.
The trustees approved the disbursement and directed staff to issue the $12,000 payment to the artist. The trustees did not amend the contract and no further action was required at the meeting.
