Committee schedules site visit after bakery manager says parking sign creates bottleneck

Carolyn Vonson, general manager of Getty Bagel, told the committee that the current placement of a 'no parking' sign at the corner of Islington and Cabbat removes a passing lane and causes a bottleneck, particularly on busy weekend mornings. "It basically removes the full passing lane at that corner," she said, asking the committee to consider moving the sign back to the private driveway to restore traffic flow while losing only one or two parking spaces.
Committee members agreed to schedule a field site visit and to pull traffic-camera footage to document peak conditions; members asked the petitioner to work with neighbors to build consensus and suggested avoiding site visits on days the bakery is closed. Staff said they can provide video from an existing signal camera and that a site visit will be coordinated with staff availability.
