He told council the city has secured more than $5 million in state and county grant funding and that the project required permits from more than eight federal, state and local agencies.
“The bidding closes on June 30th and we anticipate bringing the bid award to you in July with subsequent construction taking about 15 to 18 months to complete,” Bond said, framing the work as the beginning of pre‑construction for a major waterfront upgrade.
