Cultural Council wins board permission to keep and add 'fox' sculptures

The Foxborough Cultural Council told the Select Board on June 10 that surveys and sponsor outreach show strong community support for keeping the installed decorated 'fox' sculptures across town and for adding another to mark the new community center.
Ken Carbury, the council chair, said a town survey showed large majorities in favor of retaining the foxes rather than auctioning them, and council members described fundraising and sponsorship plans to cover maintenance and display costs. “We’re looking to get sponsorships for the foxes that are on town property,” Carbury said, adding that sponsors would be recognized with name tags on the sculptures.
The board approved authorizing a new fox at the community center and asked the council to coordinate locations on town property that require formal permission. The council also described its artist‑selection process, which will follow the same open call and internal review the council used previously.
