Board recognizes South Harrison Middle team and Bridgeport coach Robert Shields' 1,000th win

The Harrison County Schools board opened its June 2 meeting by recognizing the South Harrison Middle School baseball team as conference champions and presenting certificates to players and coaches, including head coach Brian Dean and assistant coach Scott Tooth.
Separately the board honored Bridgeport High School coach Robert Shields for achieving his 1,000th career victory on May 5, 2026 and noted his record of state championships and long service. Board members and community attendees praised Shields’ longevity and program contributions and invited him and supporters to be photographed with the team.
The recognitions were followed by applause from the board and brief remarks thanking coaches, administrators and the student-athletes for their accomplishments.
