Anacortes Pride unveils poster; council and residents urged to join June 21 parade

Mason Cole, chair of the Anacortes Pride board, presented the parade poster and logo-contest winner to the Anacortes City Council on June 1, inviting councilmembers and residents to participate in the June 21 Pride parade and afterparty at the Arts Depot. "My name is Mason Cole. I'm the chair of the Anacortes Pride Board," Cole said while thanking staff and council for working through changes to the event's location and timing.

The council and attendees greeted the presentation with praise and encouragement. Councilmember Young applauded Pride for "powering forward" and for creating a welcoming community event. Councilmembers also noted the parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. (with the afterparty roughly 2:00–5:00 p.m.) and urged residents to check updated details and sign up to participate at anacorteswah.gov/4th for parade registration and the Pride organizers' materials for event information.

The presentation included a photo opportunity with the poster recipients and board members. Organizers said the poster nods to the parade's history and community theme "Stronger Together." The City encouraged attendance and emphasized the event's role in fostering an inclusive public space. The council did not take formal action on the item; the presentation was informational and the event logistics will continue to be coordinated between staff and the Pride board.
