Planning staff, LDS volunteers clear about 70 Sutton properties; 252 volunteers participated, planning manager says

Wade Long, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough Development Services Manager, told the Planning Commission that staff worked with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on a community cleanup in the Sutton townsite from May 27 through May 30.
"We hit about 70 properties in about 4 days with 252 volunteers," Long said, and he noted the borough is still tallying the tonnage removed. Long thanked borough staff, the public and the church for their support in the effort to keep the borough tidy.
The report was delivered during the director and commissioner comments portion of the meeting; no action or follow-up assignments were recorded. The commission adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
