The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Planning Commission on Monday introduced Resolution 26-09, which recommends approval of an ordinance to amend MSB173, the borough’s multifamily development design standards. Planning Director Alex Stron identified the item during the consent agenda and said a public hearing is scheduled for June 15, 2026.
The resolution, described by staff as intended to align permitting and design standards with the scale and complexity of development projects, was placed on the consent agenda. Commissioners approved the consent agenda as presented after no objections were raised.
No public hearing or substantive debate on the content of the proposed ordinance occurred during the meeting; the commission’s action at this session was the introduction and scheduling of the hearing. Any changes to MSB173 would follow the public hearing and subsequent commission deliberation on the ordinance.
The commission recorded no other legislative public hearings or new business at the meeting and adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
