The Saddlebrooke board announced on Aug. 28 that it has selected Darren Shaw to serve as chief operating officer, with a Dec. 2 start date.
President mat cic said the board completed negotiations and received a signed employment agreement this week. "Darren has 30 years of experience in Community Management," the president said during the announcement; the board described his background in large‑scale community operations and said he will take responsibility for operational leadership when he begins on Dec. 2.
The board asked outgoing general manager Walter yazzi to remain through the transition; Walter has agreed to stay for an interim period while the COO begins. President mat cic publicly thanked Walter for his service and said the transition has been conducted with an emphasis on professional governance and continuity.
No vote was required to announce the selection; the board described further onboarding steps and a 90‑day window for the leadership change, and said they will introduce Darren to the community in coming weeks.
