Board opens 21‑day comment period and approves updated ALC guidelines

The Saddlebrooke board approved revised Architectural & Landscape Committee (ALC) guidelines and moved several housekeeping changes in the Rules & Regulations to a 21‑day resident comment period.
The ALC reported the June 2024 guidelines were shortened from 92 to 60 pages to improve readability and that a 21‑day comment period (opened May 30) produced 27 comments; the ALC addressed many of them and asked the board to approve the revised guidelines. The board approved the updated ALC guidelines by voice vote; the guidelines will be posted on the HOA website and printed copies made available in the administration office.
Separately, Ray Adams, rules and regulations chair, outlined proposed harmonizing changes between HOA1 and HOA2 (common-area definitions), reiterated that political activity on common areas follows state law hours, and proposed a prohibition on amplified sound at main pools except when approved by the general manager. The board voted to open a 21‑day resident review period for those recommended rule changes; the motion carried unanimously.
During public comment a homeowner suggested poolside amplified sound also be considered for fitness rooms and other indoor locations; board members said comments received during the 21‑day period will inform any final rule text.
