The Saddlebrooke board said it has retained the executive search firm Management Matters to run the search for a new chief operating officer (COO) and outlined a multi‑stage interview schedule.
Board leadership described the decision as part of a strategic response to identified gaps in campus management, particularly the need for a single executive to oversee food, beverage and golf operations. A board speaker said Management Matters "will produce a slate of six candidates that the board will interview via Zoom on 25 and 26 July," with the slate reduced to three for on‑site interviews on Aug. 12–14. The board said the goal is to have the new COO on campus by mid‑September.
The board also told residents the current general manager, Walter, has agreed to remain on staff through the transition. The board characterized the move as a governance decision to ensure a single executive responsible for the community’s full operations and said the selection process will include tours and department meetings for finalists.
No formal vote to select the search firm was recorded in the public transcript during this meeting; the board reported it had selected Management Matters after evaluating proposals from multiple search firms and discussing cost and guarantees. The board asked Management Matters to shortlist candidates and present them to the board in late July.
