The Buckley City Council approved a package of agreements and interlocals addressing transportation study work and emergency medical services.
Council moved to approve a consultant agreement with Gran Osborne to conduct an SR 410 corridor study; a consultant representative (Dominic) attended the meeting to answer questions. The measure passed on a voice vote.
The council approved an interlocal agreement with West Pierce Fire & Rescue to provide EMT school services, replacing a prior arrangement with Central Pierce. Staff said this maintains training continuity with credentialed instructors.
Council also approved an emergency medical service agreement with Olympic Ambulance. Staff said Olympic indicated community interest and that two full-time employees previously assigned to AMR now work for Olympic and will continue serving the area. The Olympic agreement is set to take effect Jan. 1; staff identified contingency plans should AMR vacate before that date.
