Council confirms two directors and approves easement, consent calendar and other measures

At the June 2 meeting the Seattle City Council confirmed two executive appointments, adopted its consent calendar and approved an easement ordinance for City Light property.
Appointment 3468—read by the clerk as the nomination for Director of Finance—was confirmed by unanimous roll call; the confirmed nominee addressed the council. The clerk also read and the council confirmed the new Director of the Office of Economic Development, with Councilmember Rinck noting unanimous committee support.
The council adopted the referral and regular agendas and passed the consent calendar, which included minutes and several bills recommended from standing committees.
Separately, Council Bill 121204 authorizing City Light to grant a 900-square-foot easement in Bellevue to Puget Sound Energy (to permit an underground gas line supporting T‑Mobile equipment) passed 8–1; Councilmember Strauss recorded a “no” vote citing safety and transmission-line concerns. The ordinance specified fair-market payment for the easement (recorded in committee as $6,800).
No other changes to the consent calendar were recorded. Councilmembers used closing remarks to thank staff and highlight Pride Month and other community events.
