The East Norriton Board of Supervisors voted May 25 to have the township solicitor attend and monitor a pending zoning hearing for a proposed 13‑unit development on a small parcel at 2937 Dekalb Pike.
Staff said the purchaser, identified in the meeting as Isaac Raider, wants to develop roughly 13 attached homes on a compact lot adjacent to Stewart's Keep and near the McDonald's on Dekalb Pike. Residents who attended the meeting described the parcel as small and said the proposed use would feel overcrowded.
"It's a very small piece of land. That driveway is not a great spot for that," one resident said, urging the board to scrutinize safety and circulation. Board members said notices had been mailed to nearby property owners and that the solicitor would attend the zoning hearing to monitor or, if necessary, object on the township's behalf.
Chairman Coleman described possible outcomes including negotiation on plan details or opposition at the zoning hearing. The board moved, seconded and approved the motion to have the solicitor attend the June hearing.
No formal zoning decision was made by the board at the meeting; the matter will be decided at the zoning hearing board and by the applicant's filings.
