Travis Isaac introduced himself to the board, saying he previously worked in the local government division of the North Carolina Department of Revenue and had most recently served in county tax offices. "I'm hoping the wealth of knowledge and experience I brought will add to this county and the citizens," Isaac said during his brief remarks.
County management presented the resolution and asked the clerk to administer the oath. After the oath was administered, the board voted unanimously to adopt the resolution. A motion to adopt was made and carried 4‑0.
The appointment fills the county tax administrator role as Miss Nelson prepares to finalize her settlement; the manager said Miss Nelson’s final settlement and related reports will be presented and backdated to June 1 at the June 15 meeting.
The action concludes the board’s personnel item for the day; Isaac will assume responsibilities for tax assessment, collection and related statutory duties under N.C. law.
