Antonio Steinmiller, communications and engagement manager, presented the village’s 2025 communications report at the Jan. 27 meeting, saying the village’s Facebook page had 16,716 followers as of Dec. 31 (a 28% increase from 2024) and that the police department’s Facebook page had 7,415 followers (48% growth).
Steinmiller said village content reached 5.5 million views during 2025, a 250% increase from the prior year, and highlighted a public‑safety reel promoting sober driving that had reached about 1 million views. The village’s branded mobile app had 2,180 downloads at year end, with a goal of 2,500 by April.
The communications report also summarized earned media pickups in regional outlets, newsletter subscriber counts, community outreach programs such as the citizen civics academy (117 graduates to date), and awards including recognition from the City‑County Communications & Marketing Association and the Savvy Awards.
Trustees congratulated the communications team on the reported gains and noted that a majority of social followers live outside Homewood, underscoring the reach of the village’s content.
