Northwest Louisiana CDC urges continued Caddo Parish support for youth, STEAM and family programs

“Our mission is committed to offering services, training and resources to individuals and families in need,” Brandon said, outlining student-success and college-readiness efforts, an afterschool academic-enrichment program, STEAM and technology camps, and the Code Red youth and family development initiative.
Brandon described program elements that include tutoring, computer labs, robotics and drone instruction, and family-focused financial literacy. She said parish support pays for school supplies, backpacks and technology maintenance and argued that those investments yield measurable improvements in academic readiness and family financial stability.
Commissioners thanked the CDC for its work and asked one clarifying question about a transitional boys’ home; Brandon confirmed it still operates. She provided contact information for residents who want to volunteer or support the programs.
