The Vestavia Hills Board of Education met June 1, 2026, approved its agenda and minutes and moved through routine consent business, including authorization to dispose of surplus technological devices and textbooks.
The superintendent recommended approval of the consent items and personnel slate. The board approved the superintendent's recommendations by voice vote, with no public comments recorded. The chair said the calendar amendment involved a single date shift in June for the 2026–27 meeting schedule.
A board member raised a point of order to highlight one of the personnel hires. The member noted that Mr. Casey was present and announced that "Wes Kelley, the new baseball coach," had been hired. In describing Kelley, the board member said, "Wes I think you will find is going to be a great next leader for our program. He has a great vision moving forward for pushing our boys to continue to excel in all the things they have done." The board approved the personnel items as submitted.
With no members of the public signed up to speak, the board moved to adjourn and closed the meeting.
