The board discussed an existing tobacco-cessation position that had local funding for the current year; staff said that funding would not be continued in the proposed budget and that the incumbent had resigned, leaving decisions about whether the position will continue to the program and potential alternative funders. Staff also noted an existing lead grant balance of $537 and other grant lines that are expected to decline in coming years.
A motion to approve the FY2027 budget carried on roll call; the board recorded affirmative votes and adopted the budget. The board then approved claims and receipts and adjourned after brief staff updates. The commissioners will manage any cross-jurisdictional or funding decisions required outside the board's budgetary purview.
