The Winnemucca Regional Planning Commission approved a conditional-use permit allowing a 1.25-acre parcel to be used for construction equipment storage and occasional bus parking, an application submitted by Al Brutter.
Al Brutter told commissioners the parcel would be used for storage with no regular employees and that similar parcels he owns are already used the same way; he said the properties would be chain-link fenced and locked and that he had contacted neighbors who expressed positive feedback. "There's no open access ... each one of them is chain link fenced yes and locked," he said.
Commissioners asked about lighting and proximity to residential lots; the applicant said any lighting would be minimal and likely come from the nearby utility pole rather than site lighting. Staff and commissioners noted the parcel’s existing use history and approved the conditional-use permit by voice vote.
Next steps: The applicant may proceed subject to conditions in staff review and any required building or safety permits.
