Bolingbrook Arts Council approves agenda and minutes; two new commissioners to be sworn

The Bolingbrook Arts Council met Tuesday, May 19, 2026, in the Village Boardroom and approved the meeting agenda and the minutes from its May 5 meeting by voice vote. Bobbie Speer moved to approve the prior minutes and Richard Humphreys seconded; the motion carried.
Chair Mithra Zaucha reported that two new commissioners, Larry and Charlena, will be sworn in next Tuesday and said that going forward co-chairs will submit bulleted committee updates in advance to help staff prepare agendas. The council also recorded a request to allow virtual attendance for the meeting (requesting party not specified in the minutes).
Committee updates covered visual-arts projects, a public-art bench collaboration, performing-arts programming and internships, and community events including the Village Picnic and Juneteenth activities. Digital Design co-chairs noted several website updates that staff will implement. The meeting adjourned at 8:32 p.m.; the next council meeting is scheduled for June 2, 2026.
