Government operations committee staff reported the committee voted favorably (4-0) on both CR 25-2026 and CR 26-2026; the council substituted draft 2 for CR 25-2026 and adopted both resolutions by roll call. Vice Chair Olsen described the change as a family-friendly update and said it clarifies that the exception does not preclude a member’s remote participation.
The legislative attorney and the office of law reviewed the drafts and found them to be in proper legislative form; the measure does not change remote-participation rules, only the short-notice exception for excused absences. The council recorded the adoption votes as unanimous at the time of each roll call (motion carries 10-0).
